Caryn Camacho
Biography
Caryn Elizabeth Camacho received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Belhaven University (Jackson, MS) in May of 2018. During her college education, she performed dynamic works choreographed by Ryan Corriston (Doug Verone and Dancers) Sheron Wray (London Contemporary Dance Theater) Liz Lerman's iconic work Still Crossing, and Marius Petipa's Sleeping Beauty staged by Ravenna Tucker Wagnon (Principal with The Royal Ballet.) During the summer of 2017, Ms. Camacho toured with Arrows International Dance Company to Malaysia and The Philippines for the purpose of outreach to various schools, special needs homes, assisted living facilities, churches, and universities in South East Asia. In 2018, she was selected to return to Malaysia and Vietnam for outreach, teaching, and performance with Feet Speak Dance Ensemble, a touring group of Belhaven University professors and dance majors. After graduation, she continued performing as a company member with Ad Deum II Dance Company in Houston, TX until 2020. While in Texas, she performed company repertoire and works by Randall Flinn, Shizu Yasuda, Alicia Graf Mack (current artistic director of Alivin Ailey) and Dawn Dippel. With over seven years of teaching experience, Ms. Camacho has taught ballet, pointe technique, modern techniques, and jazz dance for various schools and studios in Houston, Dallas, TX and in the greater Nashville area. She had the privilege of joining the Belmont Department of Theater and Dance in August of 2025 and currently teaches Jazz 1.
