Biography
Dr. Evan Young joined Belmont’s faculty in the Summer of 2023. Young grew up in Shepherdsville, KY before attending the University of Kentucky and obtaining his B.S. in Agricultural and Medical Biotechnology. He then moved to Nashville, TN as a member of Belmont’s 2020 PharmD class. Upon graduation, he completed a Community-Based PGY-1 residency with Purdue University’s College of Pharmacy and Mathes Diabetes Center in New Albany, IN. He then moved to Lafayette, IN to complete Purdue’s two-year Academic and Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Fellowship program where he taught in Purdue’s Pharmacy Skills Lab courses, led an elective course focused on care for vulnerable and underserved patient populations, and practiced as an ambulatory care pharmacist at a rural Federally Qualified Health Center. Young has also completed an M.S. in Instructional Design and Technology (MSIDT), is board-certified in advanced diabetes management (BC-ADM), and works part-time as a pharmacist at Walgreens.
Young serves as the Assistant Director of Experiential Education at Belmont, where he works closely with the experiential team to coordinate the Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences and teaches throughout the IPPE sequence. His interests include leadership development, community practice, diabetes management, student wellness, care for underserved populations, and maintaining an active role with the American Pharmacist Association.
