Biography

Jason Lee McKinney is a professor, international touring singer, multiple award-winning songwriter and recording artist, and philosopher.  McKinney has authored multiple books, including What is a Person In the Age of AI?, Deconstructing a Disciples Doubt and Devotions for Deconstructors, Disciples, and Doubters.

McKinney has won multiple awards, including Josie Music Awards for Male R&B Vocalist of the Year in 2019, R&B/Soul Entertainer of the Year in both 2021 and 2022, as well as Independent Country Music Association awards for Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, and Americana artist of the year in 2014. McKinney’s previous three albums all landed in the top 10 on the Roots Music Charts, with over 25-year experience in the industry and over 13 years in the classroom teaching subjects as broad as Strategy and Entrepreneurship to Artist Management to Record Label Operations to Philosophy or Religion for the Contemporary Mindset.

McKinney’s international experience is extensive. He has experienced headlining festivals and shows everywhere from Dallas to Djibouti, Africa; Biloxi to Bahrain; French Lick to France; Knoxville to Kuwait; German Town to Germany. McKinney is the intellectual everyman, author, philosopher, academic, and singer-songwriter who grew up across from a cornfield.
