Center for Interprofessional Engagement & Simulation

Welcome to the Belmont University Center for Interprofessional Engagement & Simulation!

Spanning an impressive 60,000 square feet and equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to provide immersive training experiences for a diverse range of professionals, our facility is a dynamic environment bustling with activity and innovation. With a focus on interprofessional collaboration, our center brings medical, occupational therapy (OT), physical therapy (PT), nursing, social work, pharmacy, exercise science, public health, mental health, and counseling students together under one roof.

Our center boasts 24 exam rooms, meticulously designed to simulate various clinical settings and scenarios. Whether being used for a routine check-up, diagnostic assessment, or therapeutic intervention, these rooms offer a realistic backdrop for learners to hone their clinical skills and bedside manner.

Students can immerse themselves in the hospital environment, practicing teamwork, communication, and patient care coordination.

For pharmaceutical education and practice, we have both an inpatient and community pharmacy within our center. Students can gain hands-on experience in medication dispensing, counseling, and management, preparing them for diverse roles in healthcare settings.

To foster holistic care approaches, we've integrated an apartment setting into our center. Here, students can explore home healthcare scenarios, focusing on patient education, environmental assessments, and community resources.

Our 12-bed health assessment lab provides a dedicated space for comprehensive patient evaluations and diagnostic procedures. Students can practice physical assessments, diagnostic testing, and health promotion strategies in a controlled environment.

Students can engage in realistic simulations of medical emergencies, surgical procedures, and therapeutic interventions, refining their clinical skills and decision-making abilities.

Central to our simulation center is the utilization of standardized patients/participants (SPs), who portray patients and family members with authenticity and consistency. This humanistic approach enriches the learning experience, allowing students to practice communication, empathy, and cultural competence in a safe and supportive environment.

We are proud to be accredited by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) and endorsed by the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL), reflecting our commitment to excellence in simulation-based education.
