Growing up in Nashville, she imagined chasing her filmmaking dreams in Los Angeles or New York - until a Belmont Preview Day introduced her to the Motion Pictures program. Alex Bertsekas

Meet Alex, a transfer student who found his true academic home at Belmont University. After realizing his first college wasn’t the right fit, he took a leap and discovered a place where faculty put students first and opportunities like neuroscience research came within reach. Throughout high school, Olivia Hobbs found her passion in two seemingly unrelated fields: architecture and audio engineering. With her sights set on attending Belmont University, she chose to pursue audio engineering technology, unsure if her interest in architecture could ever overlap. It wasn’t until a unique opportunity—and facility—beautifully illustrated collaboration between the two disciplines and allowed her to combine them in a career-launching way.
