Post-Doctoral Pharmacy Fellowships

College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences

Belmont University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (CPHS) offers 2 two-year post-doctoral fellowships focused in drug information, evidence-based practice, regulatory processes, teaching, and research. Belmont works in conjunction with corporate healthcare partners and government agencies to give fellows real-world experience in the specific fields of drug information and information management. Additionally, CPHS offers a 3rd two-year fellowship in population health focused on developing advanced skills in chronic disease management, implementation of population health, grant funding, and research. Upon completion of the program, candidates will be qualified to pursue careers in each respective area.

Belmont University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Christy Houston Foundation Drug Information Center

The Belmont experience provides the fellows the opportunity to manage the day-to-day operations of an academic based drug information center while assisting in core curriculum courses and precepting students. Additionally, the fellow will participate in a teaching certificate program and exit the experience with a completed teaching portfolio.

HealthTrust Performance Group

The HealthTrust experience provides the opportunity for fellows to engage in the interworking of a group purchasing organization with over 1,800 acute care facilities and more than 70,000 non-acute facilities. Fellows precept students and develop internal training materials as well as member facing resources related to regulatory, operations, sourcing, and clinical information.

FDA Division of Drug Information

The Division of Drug Information (DDI) within FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research provides fellows with the opportunity to refine their drug information skills in a regulatory setting. Fellows will respond to drug information inquiries from patients, health care professionals, and regulated industry; create and disseminate content; and assist with high-profile initiatives based on their areas of interest and Agency need.

The academic experience within the Belmont University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences will allow the fellow to be actively involved in the development of materials and teaching of both small group and large classroom sessions as well as in the precepting of APPE students. The fellow will also participate in a teaching certificate program and exit the program with a completed teaching portfolio.

Neighborhood Health

The Neighborhood Health experience provides the fellow the opportunity to participate in the provision of patient centered care while also gaining an in depth understanding of population health management. Fellows will participate in a chronic disease state management clinic, precept APPE students, review quality measures, and work to implement quality improvement projects.
