Belmont maintains addresses for several different types of constituents associated with the university. The University may maintain more than one address type for some constituents.  Whether or not the address type is available and whether it is optional or required will vary based on the person’s current relationship with the university as documented below.

Permanent (required) – this is an address where you can receive mail at any time.  Employees’ permanent address will be used for W-2 mailings and must be current at all times. Any current employee may update this addresses in Banner Web/Self-Service. Former employees may contact the Human Resources department to update their PR address.

Work address (optional) – an employee who has an additional non-Belmont work address may enter this address in Banner Web/Self-Service.  This is not a Belmont campus address, but represents a second place of employment.  This address type is most useful for adjuncts or part-time employees who have a place of employment outside of Belmont.  This address type may be used by Development and External Relations to contact constituents. Employees may update this addresses in Banner Web/Self-service.  The university may delete or deactivate Work addresses if they are Belmont campus addresses.

If you are a currently enrolled student you must have a valid permanent address in Banner.  This is the primary address used for university communication.  Please see the descriptions below for other types of addresses that may be created for students.

Students who are non-resident aliens are required by Immigration authorities to notify the International Student Officer of any change in their US/local address within 10 calendar days of that change. If the correct address is not on file, students may not receive important information from the University.

Permanent (required) – this is an address where you can receive mail at any time, during or between semesters.  If you are an undergraduate, this will often be your parents’ home.  This address may be used by student financial services when a bill must be mailed.  The permanent address is required for student workers (see Employees above.)  Students may update this address in Banner Web.

Mailing (optional) – If you live off campus during the school year, the mailing address in Banner should represent your address.  This should be an address within the greater metropolitan Nashville area.  This address will be used by financial aid to mail award letters. If you do not have a mailing address in Banner, the permanent address will be used.  There is no need to enter a mailing address if it is the same as the permanent address.  Students who live on campus should not have a mailing address in Banner.  Students may update this address in Banner Web. If the student withdraws from university housing but remains enrolled at the University, the student must update their mailing address with another local address.

Billing (optional) – If you would like billing information sent to an address other than the permanent address, you may supply a billing address.  This will be used by student financial services only when a bill must be mailed.  If a student does not have a billing address, the permanent address will be used.  There is no need to enter a billing address if it is the same as your permanent address.  Students may update this address in Banner Web.

Forwarding (optional) – The forwarding address is used by the UPS Store/Belmont Mail Services to temporarily forward mail while you are away for the summer or a semester abroad. The forwarding address must have a termination date within 6 months of the start date.  This is NOT a permanent change of address.  Any permanent change to a student’s address must be made to the permanent or mailing addresses.  Students may update their forwarding address in Banner Web.

Alumni may notify the university of address changes by contacting Development and External Relations using the online form found at: www.belmont.edu/infoupdate.

Parents may change their address by contacting Development and External Relations using the online form available at www.belmont.edu/infoupdate.  Students may not change addresses for their parents, nor may parents change addresses for students.
