Belmont University has established a University Address Policy to provide the best possible service to employees with legitimate information needs while maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of information entrusted to Belmont by its constituents.  The policy, available in the MyBelmont Portal within the Data Governance Community and this web site, are intended to help make students, employees, faculty, alumni and other constituents aware of this policy and subsequent updates

Mailing addresses in Banner are used in a variety of ways to communicate with individuals associated with Belmont University.  This information exists exclusively to support the work of Belmont University and to assist the University community in transacting business related to University programs. Portions of this information may be protected under various state and federal laws, including (but not limited to) the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). While individuals own their addresses, the university defines how these addresses are used and maintained for business purposes within related regulations.

Belmont University uses the Clean Address product by Runner technology to ensure that mailing addresses in Banner are consistent with the standards published by the US Postal Service. The Clean Address product constantly protects data entry through Banner and Banner Web, correcting it immediately or notifying the user of errors in the address.  Even with this technology in place, each constituent of the university, faculty, staff, students, alumni, parents or other individuals wishing to receive mail from the university should notify the university of a change in their address based on the information included here.

Faculty, students and staff may update their own addresses in Banner Self-Service by logging in through the myBelmont Portal.
