Amy Fucci '12 | Creative Director at Full Focus | Brand Strategist | UX Designer
"Every day walking into the Leu Art building, I'd see the words engraved on the building that read, 'The goal of the artist is not to solve a question irrefutably, but to force people to love life in all its countless, inexhaustible manifestations.' That resonated with me as a creative who wanted to use design as a medium to help impact the world. Belmont was the launching pad for me to lay the foundation and learn the tools necessary to do that, as well as provide an internship as a path directly into a career in design."
Alex Crawford '10 | Commercial Photographer | Professor of Photography at MTSU
"I had a wonderful experience in the art program at Belmont. My professors helped me sharpen my skills and build a portfolio that allowed me to get into my top choice for graduate programs. Even more, I've stayed great friends with my classmates and many of my professors. Those relationships have helped me in my career and given me a great group of friends."
Danny Broadway '22 | Visual Artist
"I have received a wealth of knowledge from the Watkins College of Art at Belmont University. I have expanded the thought processes behind creating my work and have a stronger appreciation and understanding of the history of art and it's connection to my artistic practice."
Liz Moore Marshall '10 BFA | '14 MBA
Co-Owner and Board of Directors for Stik-Pak Solutions | Marketing
Rachel Moore Best '14 | Founder of The Human Factor | Art Director
"I am the founder and lead educator for The Human Factor, where I have worked with clients such as NASA, MIT, Boston Children’s Hospital and more. Previously, I was an Art Director for an advertising agency in New York City, where I conceptualized and produced creative work for clients like GE, Visa and The American Red Cross. I owe much of my success to the Belmont faculty who invested in me, often far beyond the time in the classroom. They taught me to be an unconventional thinker, a calculated risk-taker and a resilient heart in an industry that can be very critical. Those skills (and a lot of laughter and tears) have led me to create work that has been recognized on national and international stages with awards from Cannes, The One Show, Art Directors Club, the Webbys, D&AD and The Young Guns International. No matter where my career takes me next, I’m proud to call the College of Art at Belmont University one of the many places I am 'from.'"
Natalie Briscoe '20 | Illustrator in Art Licensing | Children's Publishing | Represented by Advocate Art
"My experience at Watkins was challenging, yet incredibly rewarding. Each class allowed me to explore a variety of different methods and industries of work, broadening my horizon of possibilities within the design and illustration world. My education led me to wonderful mentors that guided me to find my distinct voice as an illustrator and connected me to a larger community of devoted artists."
Tara Woods '20 | High School Art Teacher- Visual Art I, II, and Painting
"My time at Belmont allowed me to explore all of my interests and discover new ones. As part of the Art Education program, I was able to see what Art Education looked like in the school, museum and non-profit settings. With all of this knowledge, I was able to seek out the opportunities that would best prepare me for the career I wanted."
Bailey Tichenor '16 | Founder of Artistoric
"Belmont's Art History program gave me a firm foundation for my career in the art world and fostered my appreciation of art and material culture. From my first survey course to study abroad trips and museum internships, Belmont provided me with many opportunities to learn about and engage with art from a variety of cultures and periods. I have been lucky to pursue a career in the field of art history. After working with several museums and galleries around the country, I started my own art gallery, Artistoric, which specializes in historically significant works of art."
